Wow! What a game -- easily the greatest game in Smart Ask history...
On with some interesting stats:
The scoreboard changed on EVERY question except for the first tiebreaker.
This was the highest-scoring game in Smart Ask history, with 2,920 points.
Danny has taken the T1 scoring lead with 2,630 points.
And now onto the important stuff: Why did Bishop's win this game and not Fredericton?
"Hickie Lit" -- Mio's Moment was all stuff that Danny Hickie knows like the back of his hand. By my count, The score was at least 310-(-50) for Bishop's on Hickie Lit questions -- and that's the game right there.
The final :35 -- Over the final :35 (after Fredericton tied the game at 1360), they didn't hit the buzzer. Once. If you do that over a span of 7 questions, you are more than likely going to lose.
From today's interview -- First of all, good things happen to Spenny fans. It always happens that way.
From Round 1 interviews -- When you mention "Reach For The Top" in your interview, the forces conspire against you. Your buzzers stop working. And a normally valid challenge (Russia vs. Soviet Union) gets denied. End of tournament for Fredericton. Danny, on the other hand, was incredibly modest...the trivia gods seem to like Bishop's for some reason...
So this means we have Patrick vs. Danny in the quarter-final...now THIS should be intersting.
